The editorial board of the Archives of Criminology is pleased to announce an international competition for young criminologists for an outstanding academic article in the field of criminology.
The competition is open to all young researchers from Central and Eastern Europe who deal with scientific research in the area of criminology or criminal policy. The winning papers will be published in the Archives of Criminology with open access and the authors of the three best articles will receive cash prizes.
Papers submitted to the competition should be written in English, not exceed 6,500 words (including the references and the footnotes), must be submitted no later than midnight on 31 January 2020 via the official form on this webpage
The authors of the best articles will receive cash prizes: 1st prize – €1,100; 2nd prize – €700; and 3rd prize – €300.
All submissions will be evaluated by the international jury panel (the Evaluation Committee). The jury consists of esteemed academics: Irena Rzeplińska (chairperson of the jury; editor-in-chief of the Archives of Criminology), Beata Gruszczyńska (University of Warsaw), Éva Inzelt (Eötvös Loránd University), Witold Klaus (Institute of Law Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences), Krzysztof Krajewski (Jagiellonian University in Cracow), Helmut Kury (University of Freiburg), Miroslav Scheinost (Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention), Andromachi Tseloni (Nottingham Trent University), Aleš Završnik (University of Ljubljana).
During evaluation members of the jury will be taking into account: the impact of the paper on the development of criminology, the methodology of the research conducted, the novelty of the research topic, the quality and clarity of the scientific argument and the demonstrated knowledge of the subject literature.
